Fears of a Child

The darkness that hovers around

Boggles my mind

His stalking sensation

Makes me bury my head in the sand

Knowing that he is cheek by jowl

Next to me makes my lamp at hand dimmed and inferior

Even my own shadow frightens me and makes my mind stray

Stray into a world of darkness

Where not even a glint of light could be seen

Its felicity gone and void prevailed

.

I screamed at the top of my lungs

Seeing the creepy shadows

He mocks me

Because I break into cold sweats knowing

He is there

I can’t stomach the fear

.

The strides of darkness on the wall

and all I see is a world of adornments

Lost to darkness.
